Last updated 2 November 2026. Bored Billionaires is a South African-founded debt-relief discovery and matching beta. It is not a registered charity, public-benefit organisation, debt counsellor, lender, money transmitter, escrow provider, registered third-party payment provider or financial adviser.

Applicants

Only adults aged 18 or above with genuine, current personal debts in the initial eligible South African jurisdiction may apply. You must submit only your own debt, describe it truthfully, obtain necessary consent, and promptly disclose if the balance changes or is paid elsewhere. Your email login and application can be rejected, suspended or closed if suspicious. Forged statements, duplicate fundraising claims or impersonation are prohibited. Approval or publication is discretionary and is not a promise that any debt will be paid.

Screening

We may request documentary proof, identity confirmation, lawful creditor verification and a permitted repayment route. Bank statements are private and should be redacted to minimize unrelated information. A person's submission is not independently verified just because a document was uploaded. Staff review is required before publication.

Donors

Donors may register an interest in paying a specific verified debt, but **there are no payment buttons or real-money contributions on this platform yet**. Interest is not a donation, legally binding pledge, gift receipt or tax deduction. Do not send money to applicants or anyone claiming to act for Bored Billionaires on WhatsApp, social media or off-platform requests. Any future donations will require an approved provider or creditor-direct payment arrangement, verified receipts and a separate written payments policy.

USD estimates

ZAR debts remain recorded in ZAR. USD campaign goals are converted using a dated reference rate for display only; actual final amounts and conversions may differ after exchange-rate movements, payment-provider fees, bank charges and changes in outstanding balances. See the USD explanation.

Privacy and removal

Submitting consents to private processing, creditor checks and optional public summary publication is required to apply. You can request correction, withdrawal, access or deletion, subject to applicable retention duties, through the contact portal or your signed-in account. We can pause or remove public campaigns following an authenticated withdrawal request.

Liability and availability

The site is a developing pilot and may have interruptions. It does not provide credit advice, negotiated debt restructuring, guaranteed relief, financial intermediation or any guarantee of creditor approval. We may suspend accounts and suspected fraudulent campaigns for security.
