BUILT FOR TRUST · IN DEVELOPMENT

One real bill. One real life changed.

We want to let someone help pay a verified South African bill through an authorised payment provider—and see when that payment is credited to the actual biller. We are not yet processing such payments.

Beta: direct biller checkout pending partner approval
01 · PRIVATEApply

Describe the bill and your situation. The public never sees identity numbers, account numbers or raw statements.

02 · REVIEWVerify

Check the person, dated bill, creditor ownership, exact amount and supported payment reference.

03 · PARTNERPay safely

Only a provider-approved biller route can take payments. Donors review the actual merchant and recipient.

04 · PROOFConfirm credit

A payment notification is not enough. The creditor must confirm allocation before we mark the bill settled.

WHO CAN APPLY?

Check the bill type before you start

We are prioritising invoices with a recognised biller and reference. This eligibility guide is informational: choosing a category does not verify a bill or guarantee that the creditor supports payment from a third party.

Choose a bill category to see what we would need to verify. No personal details are collected here.

READY BEFORE YOU APPLY?

Document checklist

0 of 4 readiness checks complete. These are not verified by us.

Privacy: Do not send unredacted statements, account references, identity numbers or bank details via social media or the public form.

How do we know the creditor was actually paid?

  1. Provider event: approved payment partner identifies a successful transaction and its unique reference.
  2. Settlement check: biller/creditor provides an account allocation confirmation or independent updated statement, with sensitive data withheld from the public.
  3. Public status: campaign changes from Payment initiated to Credited by biller only after both checks. Reversals and refunds must correct the status.

We are exploring a South African bill-payment partnership, including Pay@ infrastructure, but no provider has approved this model for Bored Billionaires. HelpPay currently requires Australian BPAY bills and is not a South African solution.
